Genomics Testing

What are Nutrigenomics and how can they help?

Genomics Testing with full report & 30-minute Zoom appointments

Your DNA makes you unique, but also impacts your health. Tiny genetic variations can slightly change your biology, for example by dictating how efficiently you make or detoxify certain substances or by affecting your hormone balance 1. Your genes alone don’t determine your health destiny, however. Special markers sit on your genes, reacting to signals from the outside world and activating or suppressing the activity of your genes. In this way, environmental factors like stress, sleep, nutrient deficiencies and toxic chemicals can turn on or off genes or alter the way they’re expressed. The impact of the environment on your genes is called epigenetics, while nutrigenomics is concerned with how diet effects the way your genes are expressed. 2 3 4

Knowing your inherited genetic programming and the way your genes react with environmental factors is incredibly useful. Testing can reveal how your genes are affecting your appetite, blood sugar balance and your nutrient requirements, and how well you tolerate certain foods. 5 6

After I’ve analysed your test results, I’ll support your inherited health picture with personalised nutritional and lifestyle changes particularly effective for your DNA. Testing takes away the guesswork, highlighting important nutrients and lifestyle measures and enabling your diet to be fine-tuned so it’s aligned with your genes.
