What is functional Medicine

Functional medicine is an evolution in the practice of medicine that better addresses the healthcare needs of the 21st century. By shifting the traditional disease-centred focus of medical practice to a more client-centred approach.
Functional medicine addresses the whole person, not just an isolated set of symptoms. Practitioners spend time with their clients, listening to their histories and looking at the interactions among genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors that can influence long-term health and complex chronic disease. In this way, it supports the unique expression of health and vitality for each individual.

The Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM), the global leader in providing clinical education in functional medicine, is pleased to announce Jo Gamble as a member of the first graduating class of certified functional medicine practitioners.

As a graduate of The Institute for Functional Medicine’s Certification Program (IFMCP), Jo Gamble, is uniquely trained in the functional medicine model to identify and treat the root causes of chronic disease. In order to achieve the designation of IFM Certified Practitioner, Jo Gamble has completed 7 onsite training seminars and passed stringent written and case study evaluations.

Jo Gamble was the first UK trained functional medicine practitioner to graduate from the Institute of functional medicine in 2013.
