You might be wondering what integrative oncology is and whether it could benefit yourself or a loved one.
Integrative oncology aims to bring together complementary therapies and orthodox medicine to improve the lives of people affected by cancer, wherever they are in their journey. It’s where conventional cancer treatment meets complementary medicine to improve outcomes for cancer patients, including the prevention of recurrence.
Integrative oncology looks at the whole body, not simply the cancer, and works with cancer patients to educate and empower them to make healthy choices to support their health.
I hold a Fellowship in Integrative Oncology, gained from The American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. While I don’t “treat” cancer, I will work with you to discover imbalances which may have contributed to your health issues. Integrative oncology acknowledges the importance of the body/mind connection in maintaining health.
Depending on your situation, appropriate therapies aim to improve your quality of life and treatment outcome and support you through your journey by managing side effects and supporting you emotionally and empowering you with education about your disease and positive changes you can make.
By discovering what nourishes and what depletes your personal body, I can work with you to provide your body with nourishing foods and recommend positive lifestyle behaviours with the aim of supporting you through your treatment and beyond.
Your protocol will be unique to you and will support you from wherever you start in your integrative oncology journey.
Integrative oncology starts with you, but it’s guided by evidence.
Only you can decide if I am the right person for you.
