Ingredients

  • 2 ripe pears, peeled
  • 1½ cups water
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp chopped pistachios

Method

  1. Combine water, honey, vanilla, and cinnamon in a saucepan and bring to a simmer.
  2. Add the pears and gently poach for 20–25 minutes until soft.
  3. Remove the pears and reduce the liquid to a syrup.
  4. Serve the pears warm with syrup and pistachios sprinkled on top.

 

Why it’s good for gut health:
Pears provide hydration and fibre. Pistachios are a natural prebiotic and honey supports digestion with antimicrobial properties.
